2001年、Vo.鶴野慎一の呼びかけにより「windmilk(ワインドミルク)」結成。
ライブハウス「Livespot PAGODA 」を拠点に活動を始める。
当時「 シンプル且つ激しく 」をコンセプトに、80年代～90年代の往年のグランジロックが伺えるライブバンドとして幅広いエリアでの活動を行う。
2002年5月にBASS 松永 和久の加入。サウンドの幅 を広げ、同年の9月にDEMO CD「Suicidal Crowl（3曲入り） 」をリリース。
600本のDEMO CDを数日で配布。
2003年3月、「One Track Train Tour」と題して初のライブツアーを開催する。
「One Track Train Tour」と時期を同じくしてwindmilk自主企画「BabyGun」を立続けに行う。
2003年9月 windmilk/arthur共同でSplit CDをリリース(1000枚限定･Sold Out)。
Split CDをひきさげて9月に4度目の「BabyGun」を企画。このライブは過去最高動員を樹立(当時)。
2004年3月「Suicidal Crawl(2000枚限定･Sold Out)」をリメイクし、5度目のBabyGunを開催。初のSold Outを記録する。
2004年6月にはO-NESTで開催された「Speed Star Records主催STARS☆NIGHT」に参加。
関係者及び観衆の高い評価を得る。
2004年10月に開催された8回目のBaby Gunにはハンサム兄弟、CLARABELLなど実力派バンドが出演。
Baby Gunの動員数は既にのべ1200人を越える。
2004年10月30日に川崎クラブチッタで開催された東京砂漠Vol.23にも参加。
2005年2月より全国23局のラジオ番組にて楽曲のON AIR。
2006年2月、BAMBOO RECORDS/3D SYSTEMより1stアルバム「Waiting for something new」全国リリース。
2006年2月、全国FM28局にてオンエアーされる。
2006年2月、福島FM 番組「DIVE DEEPER 」にてON MY HEADとFEARSがオンエアーされ、稀にみる大反響、ゲストに松永が出演する。
2006年2月15日INDIES SOUND TERMINAL CD GALLERY掲載
2006年3月 USEN CG-25「インディーズカウントダウン」にてノミネート。
2006年3月 USEN CG-25「インディーズカウントダウン」にて4月度、40組中、初登場2位にランクイン。
2006年3月 携帯音楽ポータルサイト音楽創庫に登録
2006年4月 USEN CG-25「インディーズカウントダウン」にて5月度、ランキング1位を獲得する。

windmilk has more than proven their worth as a heavily accomplished trio of musicians, producers, and performers.
Maintaining a strong foothold and impressive fan base in their native home of Tokyo, Japan, they have won the respect of the heavily Western influenced Japanese music scene due to their unparalleled stage and radio performances reminiscent of the early days of Sub Pop and the Pacific Northwest music scene.
Similar in style to bands such as Silversun Pickups, Oxford Collapse, and Sunny Day Real Estate, they have pulled their sound distinctly from every corner of this earth. Lead vocalist and guitarist, Shinichi Tsuruno who fronts with a voice creeping somewhere in the depths between Maynard and Enigk turns the most subtle, almost ethereal, guitar sounds instantly into walls of pure distorted bliss before you can even register a scream of, "LOCK 'N LOLL!". Completing the power trio; Shinichi is joined by the likes of bassist, Kazuhisa Matsunaga and drummer, Satoshi Nakamura. Together the three of them self produced a series of three albums before the release of their long anticipated first full length LP, "Waiting For Something New," in February '06.
The album initially sold 4000+ copies, and soon sold out completely over the short span of a few following shows, with a significant amount of overseas mail orders.
Since its initial release the album has continued to stay popular amongst both "Gaijin" and Japanese, and the list of who shares their stage grows only more impressive with each gig played.
