Broken glass shatters into the cold air.
Light the fire we’ll burn it all cause we don’t care.
The rendezvous is not for a while.
Soak in the scene for the long mile
Exhaustion bleeds out from our eyes
as we wander lost in the moonlight
We paint our stories on the concretes of these streets.
This city was our canvas and we drew it carelessly.
Those days are gone and we never got to finish the piece.
They’re distant memories, priceless for us to keep.
The sirens drown out our voices, heavy lungs carry the scrapes and bruises.
At night this city sings a different key, it’s out of tune but for us it’s always calming.
Holdfast until daybreak
We’re almost home from another long journey.
The time we shared will never leave our minds.
Through the mayhem is how we learned to unwind.
